LLU students study in a real palace. 🏰

It's true, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU) is located in the Jelgava Palace.

The Jelgava Palace was designed by the famous architect Rastrelli for the Duke in the 18th century. In 1939, Foundation for the needs of a higher education institution is laid in the western wing of the Palace and the Jelgava Academy of Agriculture (now Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies) was opened.

Students learn in classrooms that were once the silver and gold halls through which the duke once strode.

The Jelgava Palace is considered the greatest Baroque pearl in the Baltics.
